IAS Pooja Khedkar is currently in the news because during the civil examination she had claimed that she is mentally challenged and also has problems in seeing, but the controversy is arising on her selection in the administrative service without any examination.
Why is there controversy over the selection of IAS Pooja Khedkar?
During the civil examination, IAS Pooja Khedkar had filed an affidavit that she is mentally challenged and is unable to see due to problems in her eyes, due to this claim, she was given concession and despite low marks, she was selected in the administrative service, due to which the department is raising the point that Pooja Khedkar has refused to participate in the medical examination on six different occasions due to some reason or the other, despite this she has been selected.
IAS Pooja Khedkar’s medical examination was to be done at AIIMS in Delhi on 22 April 2022, but Pooja Khedkar did not attend that examination by claiming to be corona infected, but after this she did not attend the examination which was to be done on 26 and 27, she is continuously avoiding these examinations, and instead of attending Delhi Medical College, she got an MRI done from an outside center and submitted its report to UPSC which was rejected, IAS Pooja Khedkar is also accused of misuse of power and it has also been alleged that when the Additional Collector was on leave, IAS Pooja Khedkar occupied his chamber and she sat there by putting her name plate.
